About FME
FME, the Fellowship of Medical Evangelicals, is a parachurch organisation made up of enthusiastic Malaysian, Christian Healthcare Workers.
Our passion is to encourage and equip Christian healthcare workers and students to be firmly rooted in Christ and His Word — consistently living this out through all stages of their medical career.
Simply put, our concern is to see how we might fully glorify God and make much of His Son, Jesus in all that we do.
Our Mission
- To encourage Christian healthcare professionals to stay rooted in their primary identity in Christ.
- To unite Christian healthcare professionals by our faith in Christ Jesus according to God’s Word.
- To equip Christian healthcare professionals to serve Christ faithfully in their respective churches and workplaces.
Our Beliefs
Our Story
FME is about helping doctors to grow by rediscovering age-old Christian foundations and why that matters in their busy careers.
We are a group of young Christian doctors mid-way through our careers. 10 years ago, what started off with an idea of a fellowship of gospel-centered doctors transformed and crystallised as we transitioned through various stages of the medical career.
As we personally experienced medical school, housemanship training years and beyond, we were caught off guard and hit with real and personal Christian struggles. Suddenly, there was a shockingly real temptation to sideline our identity as Christians at least for this period of our lives – being Christian became secondary to being a doctor. We are devastated to find many friends who have given up on the faith because of these reasons.
Thanks be to God, as we encountered these trials we were supported by like-minded seniors, people who share the calling as Christian doctors. Many have gone before us and their faith, wisdom and advice have been instrumental.
We started off by gathering cross-legged on the floor of a doctor’s dorm, drawing interested medical students and fellow doctors. We focused on delving into the Word, bolstering our identity with our true purpose– Serving Christ First.

Her days are split between running after a cheeky three year old, children's ministry work and hospital work.

Dr Paul Wong
Paul is an internal medicine physician based in Kuantan, Malaysia. Although raised in a Christian home, he only came to truly follow Christ as Lord during his university years. He desires to help others reflect on the purpose of life by sharing the gospel and leading bible studies. In his free time, he enjoys reading and exploring the outdoors with his boys.
